We Believe...
Scripture
The Bible is the Word of God which stands as the supreme source of absolute truth for Christian beliefs and living. (See: Psalm 119:160 and 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God
There is only one true God, who is the Creator and Ruler of the universe, consisting of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; one God, three co-equal persons. (See: Deuteronomy 4:6 and Matthew 28:19)
God the Father
is all present, all knowing, all powerful and reigns over His creation and its history in accordance with His purposes and providence. (See: Genesis 1:1 and Ephesians 4:6)
God the Son
is Jesus Christ who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on a cross for the sins of men, arose from the dead after three days, ascended into Heaven, and will return again to earth to reign as King. (See: Matthew 1:22-23, Acts 1:9-11, and 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
God the Holy Spirit
is in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ and provides the Christian with power to live a life of holiness and service that is pleasing to God. (See: John 16:7-13, Acts 1: 4-8, and 1 Corinthians 3:16)
Humanity
Created by God in His own image, man is to commune with God, but has an inherent attitude of disobedience toward God called sin, which separates him from his Creator, disabling this sacred fellowship. (See: Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Psalm 14:1-3, and Romans 3:23)
Salvation
Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in and following Jesus Christ as God’s gracious offer of forgiveness can man be redeemed from his sin, and therefore its penalty. This wonderful salvation is so powerful that it will never be taken away from the one who truly possesses it. (See: John 14:6, Romans 6:23, and Ephesians 2:8-9)
Church
The Bible speaks of the church in two contexts: universally- all of the redeemed of Christ from all history- and locally- a body of baptized believers who engage in worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry, and fellowship. (See: Acts 2:41-47 and Ephesians 2:19-22)
Eternity
God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end, in which, according to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth. Man will exist forever either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. (See: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 John 5:11-12)
