Darren Whitehead

Lead Pastor

Darren is married to Carol and has two sons. Jonathan and Christopher. Darren has an undergraduate degree in Business and two Master’s degrees – one in Business and another in Theology. He has taught three years at Navarro College, seven years at Texas Wesleyan University, five years for Colorado Christian University and six years for Dallas Baptist University. He currently works for both Colorado Christian University and Dallas Baptist University. He also has taught at Pantego Christian Academy for twelve years. Darren is a church planter and has held pastorate positions for three churches and is in his nineteenth year as a senior pastor. He has overseen thirteen new church plants, eleven new community ministries and mentored many interns to lead new church starts and community ministries. He has sponsored church starts to reach out to Iranians, Chinese, Hispanic, Arabic, and Bangladesh people groups. He has led multiple international mission trips to Moscow, Kissiliv, Kiev, and Komariv, Ukraine, and Bucharest, Romania. He has taught at Kiev Baptist Seminary, Criswell College / Seminary and Southwestern Seminary. Sometimes he sleeps.

Joshua Chaney

Associate & Families Pastor

Josh has currently been serving at TDP since July 2016. Josh grew up in Arlington and received a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies focused in Christian Ministry and Humanities from The University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and his Masters of Arts in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Josh is a huge fan of baseball and the movies. He has been married to his wife, Kendall, for 10 years and together they have 2 dogs: Otto and Marion.

John Doubledee

Missions Pastor

John is married to JoAnn, and together they have four adult children, eleven grandchildren, and six (so far) great-grandchildren. They are truly blessed! John holds a degree in Information Technology and a master’s degree in Theology from Omega Bible Institute and Seminary in Monroe, Louisiana. He has served in ministry for over 35 years, fulfilling roles ranging from janitor to pastor, as well as many positions in between, including hospital chaplain. John has a deep love for people and a heart for serving in whatever way best helps others grow closer to the Lord in their walk with Christ. His favorite music includes Southern Gospel and Contemporary Christian.

Elizabeth Milman

Worship Pastor

Elizabeth was born in Singapore, grew up in Colorado, and moved to Texas at the age of 17. She began playing piano at seven years old and started serving on her youth group’s worship team during her teenage years in Colorado. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, and from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2020 with a master’s degree in Church Music and Piano Pedagogy. Elizabeth served at TDP as a keyboardist from 2012 to 2017. After teaching English in South Korea from 2021 to 2024, she returned to Texas and became the Worship Leader in September 2025.

Trevor Holguin

Student Pastor

Trevor has been serving at The Dwelling Place since the spring of 2024 and currently serves as the Student Pastor. He graduated high school in May 2025 as the salutatorian and is now pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Texas Christian University. Trevor is also a cadet in the TCU Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). He has a heart for students and is passionate about helping the next generation grow in their faith and leadership.

Troy graves

Student Leader

Troy is currently a junior at Pantego Christian Academy and has been attending The Dwelling Place since the summer of 2024. He plays football, soccer, and baseball, and hopes to pursue automotive engineering in the future. Troy enjoys encouraging his peers spiritually and is passionate about helping students grow in their faith through Bible studies, meaningful relationships, and plenty of fun along the way.

Parker Thornton

Technology Director

Parker has been serving as the Tech Director at The Dwelling Place since March 2020 and has attended TDP for most of his life. He graduated from Juan Seguin High School in 2022 and currently attends the University of Texas at Arlington, where he is studying Art with a concentration in Photography and a minor in Broadcast Communications. He also works as a sports videographer, photographer, and media producer. Parker enjoys playing sports, riding motorcycles, and trying new things, and brings creativity and excellence to every aspect of the church’s media and technology ministry.

Hospitality Director

Pam is originally from Mesquite, Texas and attended Hardin-Simmons University, where she met her beloved husband, Jodie. After marrying, they settled in Arlington, Texas, where they were blessed to raise four amazing sons and now enjoy being grandparents to ten wonderful grandchildren. Pam has been part of The Dwelling Place family for over 13 years and currently serves as the Hospitality Director. She has a heart for welcoming others and creating an environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and at home. Pam’s joy in serving and connecting with people reflects her deep love for the church and its community.
